Dilly Dally

I was thinking of a good title for this post and the word Procrastination keeps on coming up my head. Procrastination - it is the avoidance of doing a task that needs to be accomplished. It could be further stated as a habitual or intentional delay of starting or finishing a task despite its negative consequences. See, this is me for the past ten years. A decade ago I have this idea (or goals ) of starting my own online/physical thrift shop, keeping a blog, learning how to use a sewing machine, how to knit, play the guitar (over again), speak Spanish (bec, Gael Garcia Bernal). Those did not happen. New year, new ideas and most of the time resources/opportunities are there. It was all just me. I get caught up with life and that should not be an excuse because everybody does! I keep telling myself that if x and z are able to do it, why can't I? I know, it's cliche. My people keep telling me that I have my own path, my own circumstances and that I shouldn't compare myself to others. Each journey is unique. Right. These have been my shield for not following through with my plans.

So now, here I am slowly, well, more of aggressively picking up where I left off. I checked the last time I wrote here and it was ages ago (six years to be exact). I mean, I love writing and this should come out naturally (I hope!). I love keeping and documenting memories because I want to go through them when I'm old and I'm with my Ninjas and their own little ninjas - now this thought makes me *giddy*. Lastly, I love sharing my thoughts and experiences because I love knowing other people's thoughts and experiences too! I get a kick everytime there's a "shit-you-too?" moment! You know what I mean. :) So, welcome (once again) to this little corner. Fix yourself a cuppa and make yourself at home.

It's a B-E-A-yuuutiful day for dreams coming true : a wedding x a concert

This is another 'Lagare' post. Remember my first post about it? I first went to my close friend's wedding at Mt. Carmel church. She assigned my to be the Psalmist, which was kind of like a big deal for me. Got there -- well... not really on time because we got lost on the way plus Le Mister's iphone wasn't that much helpful with giving us directions. But I was able to make it and do my job -- so. It was such a wonderful wedding. I wish I could have taken pretty pictures to show. Both the bride and groom were teary eyed the whole time, they listened intently to the priest's sermon which was not boring at all -- he gave insightful thoughts about marriage. Suits. The wedding lasted for about 2 hours. It was around 3PM when we had our photo op with the newly weds. I told Kyla and Eds ( both close friends) that I'm heading to Eastwood because the show starts at 4PM --- took a cab, got there around 3:30PM -- no traffic -- sweeep.

some not so good pictures from Le Wedding. Kyla --- the pretty Candle sponsor ; Eds --- the one who read the 2nd reading

When I arrived at Eastwood, Le Mister already bought the shirt for me --- he got me a size XS --- which fit just fine! wehw! As we went inside, waiting for the band , you can really feel the crowd so anxious to see The Ataris. I thought : man, been listening to them for 10 years and I am FINALLY going to see them live! see them sing the songs I used to belt my heart out! --ok that was a little exaggerated.  My good friend Raul came over too! which made it a whole lotta fun! and we got to see familiar faces as well.  I just don't understand why some people would prefer to take tonsa pictures -- blurry ones even! rather than sing along with the band and enjoy the show! I'm like -- man., you're missing the whole point! take one picture and then do yourself a favor and enjoy the freaking show! But that's just me. Oh! and they did not play the Saddest Song --which made me kinda upset -- but well... it's all good.

After the awesome show, we met up with Billie ( le mister's sister ). They were suppose to see the show too but got there a little late. Billie was with her bestie -- She and her other friend Kat. We went to this Mexican place called Agave -- they have this bottomless Margarita and we're GO! ordered some nachos and some other food that I can't recall. We started drinking at 6PM ,got out of the place around 9PM ,so well -- that's 3 solid hours of bottomless Margarita , Mexican food and a whole lot of chit-chats.  I always love hanging out at Eastwood. It's clean, very orderly and the crowd's quite nice. Oh...and I kissed Bumblebee -- just because. Fun night.

13 going on 27 : a birthday post

It started with a conversation that went like this:
E : hey guess what 2 big things are coming up this month
A : ?
E : Sinulog...
A: what's the other one? oh. The Ataris?
E : your birthday
A : oh right.
E : so The Ataris coming over is bigger than your birthday?
A : I guess...
.
.
.
A : I guess with having 2 ninjas changes my perspective of things. Like I'm super grateful for another year , but I think imna have to keep it low key this year ... nothing fancy.

Then I realized, I've changed! am I getitng old? am I? I remember how I'm a big fan of blowing birthday candles. Last year I had a friend who made me cupcakes and we had dinner at home , le mister cooked and we got drunk -- like it was a big thing.

This what went down during my 27th birthday. It started the night before, we had a few beer, popcorn and watched 50/50 (yet again) on Starmovies. Le mister wanted to wait for midnight so he can greet me first and then he posted this on his IG feed :  Beer, Popcorn & Movie time with the birthday girl. Love you booboo..

I messaged with my Pop, and he remembered my age! I haven't seen him in like forever so imagine how happy I was when he remembered how old I am. That morning I got kisses from Le Ninjas. Both were super behave the entire day because I kept telling them it's my birthday.

The night was spent with some goody good friends whom I haven't seen for a long time. Rhea was going back to SG where she works the day after so I met up with her along with 2 other friends. She asked if I wanted a cake and I said I'll skip it because it's fattening. Hah! After some catching up at Starbucks we ambushed some of our close friends at our previous work -- good thing they were all there! ...and well --- did tonsa of catching up -- yet again , laughed til we could not breathe and took tonsa pictures.

Letters Never Sent v. 1

A series of old pictures accompanied by thoughts that I've been meaning to say to those people that're on the picture. I was gon scan them but I got way too excited to get it all started and just post away. Enjoy the first round up!

Dearest Mom,

I am so glad that you've kept this picture of me naked on the beach – I've searched high and low and this is THE ONLY baby picture I have --- huhmmm, what happened ,mom?  ;)

Dearest Childhood Bestie,

Remember when we were chatting some days ago. You asked me if I still had that picture of us under the mango tree? Well here it is, along with other pictures of us dancing and participating on some school activities. We were unstoppable and so in demand at that time don’t you think? I felt bad though when you told me that our recognition day (our picture on the flag pole) was the last time that we saw each other. I’m sorry I lost track.

Would you happen to remember Mary Joy Restauro? We were also good friends with her, right?

Dear Sanrio Photo holders,

Thank you for taking good care of my precious photos. You are just too cuuuute!

Dearest Big Sis,

I always thought you were/are the prettiest among us three ( or four, even) Dodong – who would have thought, right? Hehe

Dearest Kuya Bam,

You’ve always been the coolest sib. I am planning to have TX and Trey imitate this picture of you and Nino when they’re old enough to do it -- -this was during Shin’s birthday year 1995. Oh –and the other one was during your graduation day --- I hate myself for not sticking around during dinner =( I am sorry for the lost time.

Ten Things : Blogs I Heart

I've been reading and stalking blogs since 2009. Wait, I think that just sounds creepy. It's just that I don't really bother to hit the 'follow' button, the only blog I do follow is my Bestie's and that's just because I genuinely have to follow her adventure -- she just hops from one place to another, gets caught up with her dreams of becoming a great surfer (she's already a good surfer) and Facebook just doesn't seem to suffice.

I do have a long list of blogs on my bookmarks folder entitled Blogs I Heart. I am really having a hard time to narrow it down to just ten blogs, but I guess these are the blogs I know by heart and my day just would not be complete without checking out an entry or two.

Here goes:

1. bleubirdvintage - I always enjoy her 'what we wore' post with her whole family.

2. a beautiful mess  - Emma x Elsie , I love how they are so driven and passionate about living their dreams and making each day count. I truly enjoy the outfit posts and their DIY projects.

3. bright red hoodie - Her name is Nadyne and she's the most kick-ass person I know. I sometimes catch myself leaving comments on her blog just because I know she deserves it and she inspires me a whole lot. I always look forward to her 'notable quotables'. Oh! and she has an exquisite taste in movies and music too.

4. mackin ink - Reading her blog is like catching up with a dear friend whom you haven't seen for a very long time. Took me a good 20 minutes to find the very first entry I read from her blog which caused me to cry big time. I am mighty sure you're gonna love it though.

5. how about orange - I am not really a big fan of the color orange, but when I saw this blog --- I can't take my eyes off of it. Its got tons of both DIY and free stuff that you can download. I'm a huge fan of them printables , I have printed a couple of name tags and book tags from this blog , it features origami too!

6. a cup of jo - She's probably by far the most popular blog there is. I guess? I love how she easily relates to everyone and how open she is on her entries/articles. On a typical day she would blog about Toby, her kiddo and then the next day she would share a recipe of the 'best (insert name of food here) you'll ever have. I enjoy her 'motherhood' series and her weekend round ups!

7. rockstar diaries - Can I just say --- very well put together. Too many eye candies -- I am talking about her outfits! and some charming little ones!

8. color me katie - She doesn't blog that often -- but when she does it's always ALWAYS like a dash of sunshine. Inspiration and color overload? Yes please!

9. project vanity - The ONLY local beauty blog that I read religiously. She's introduced me to quite a few products that I still use right now. Oh, she loves to ukay too!

10. modcloth blog - For when times that I want to drool over them dresses. Hey, a girl can dream ,right?  Lately, I've been eyeing these :
