Sunday is good, no -- it's AWESOME.

Hey! how was your weekend? mine was just down right awesome.  I got a text from my dear friend Chaynee asking me if I wanted to go 'thrifting' with her. She was already out , went to Divisoria to score some wigs for her Little Twin Stars -- oh, that's what she calls her babies -- Dumpling and Calel, charming ,don't you think?

Anyhooo, I head out after lunch with my boys -- we got some barbecue and Le Mister cooked sinigang --- sarap! Took a train to Gateway and met Chaynee at Anonas station. And off we went! Before we went upstairs to check the shop that was on sale, we stopped by this little ukay store, they had some 3 for 100 racks --mind you , 'the rack' that I am talking about holds nice and gorgeous tops and dresses and bags and stuff . I wasn't up for more clothes but I saw this black/maroon hoodie that reminds me of Marceline of Adventure Time so I got it anyway. So as I was checking more items ,Chaynee was at the shoes section and she pointed those boots that were like a hundred fifty, I was like meh . I was lazily checking some more shoes ..and then ..lo and behold (  FACT: whenever I say 'lo and behold' trust me ... it's a TREASURE lo and behold item -- whatever that means ) I saw the this saddle shoes that really caught my eye! I couldn't contain my self when I saw it and Chaynee was like Ana! that's so you! I've been meaning to score one for, what, 2 years now? and it's one of those things that you really really liked and searched high and low for some cheap ones out there -- I even had my sister DIYed me one some 2 years ago because I just couldn't splurge on those kinds of shoes and just recently, Elsie ( favorite blogger of all time) scored some new saddle shoes. I was like yeah, I'll pass. It'll come and IT DID! out of the blue it did! it was like Christmas and birthday all together! hah! well -- that was a little exaggerated.

So back to the shoes -- it was 400, Chaynee was like -- 'ask for the last price' . I smiled at the attendant and said ' how much po yung last price, Ate?' The Ate knew that I really liked it said '350 and last price na yan' pfffftt.... 'di pwedeng 300?' I replied and she instantly said NO. I went 'Ok, 350 including this hoodie?' Ate: OK. haha! scored! I paid it straight away thinking she would change her mind. I was ready to go home and leave Chaynee! -- joke. So we went upstairs and I saw the exact same saddle shoes but this time it's for men that was on half off! I thought of Le Mister but maybe he wouldn't want us to be matchy2x and all -- but it would be cute too, don't you think? =p So I just took a picture of it. Chaynee scored some nice stuff and I got 2 dresses -- the other one was even brand new that's got a $79.90 price tag on it. Hah!

Score! At the top right, was the 'men' version of the shoes that I saw but I didn't buy it.

This was the brand new spanking dress that I scored for only 120! It even got them cute front pockets! Imna try to take a picture of the whole dress when it's clean. =p

Oh! and this is me after 15 minutes of Uninterrupted make-up routine. Hah!

Great things really come to those who wait --- patiently

Ten Things: stash

This week’s ‘Ten Things’ is about a few of my favorite things. Enjoy.

Cheap Stuff – I was running errands when I saw this little store that sells them random neat stuff. Got the hair clips for 10php each and the Turquoise earrings for 80php – I’ve noticed I got way too many Turquoise colored accessories lately.

Colored socks – was waiting for my sister in law to meet me at Tiendesitas when I saw these at a stall that’s selling them for php50/pair. I came from work and she picked up the ninjas along with her daughter for a play date.

Coffee table books – we don’t have a decent coffee table yet but would love to invest in one. So far, these 2 are definitely staying on that future coffee table. Best part is? They’re only 32php each, spotted them in a random bookstore – I’m hoping I can find the rest of the Simpsons – that’d be awesome, don’t you think?

DVD Collection from work. Yup! Working for Disney got a whole lotta perks especially when you’re a Senior Rep. *winks*

A few of our favorite books from local authors – we heart Bob Ong. There was a time when I was so into Jessica Zafra – love her Twisted books – uhhh..Forgot the number but it’s the one with movie reviews. I was a wee bit disappointed when I bought Twisted 9 -- all she talked about was Tennis – I was like meh.

Haruki Murakami – now, these books are extremely special to me. The first H.Murakami book I have was the Blind Willow Sleeping Woman it was gifted to me by a dear friend—and I love all the stories in it. The second one was South of the Border West of the Sun – I bought it myself. Third, After the Quake which was given by my sister, Shin – she used to teach English to some Korean kids and when she left for Netherlands her student gave this book to her – she didn’t quite understand (or liked) the book so I asked it from her – Last one is the Elephant Vanishes that was given by my mom – she loved the book and wanted me to keep it.

This stash contains my feel good books --- enough said.

My Go-To books. I've been reviewing the basics in writing a pretty good article. I’ve been meaning to study Spanish because of him . I am thinking of buying a guitar this Christmas so I am borrowing that guitar book from Le Mister. Parenting books because up until now I am still baffled every time my Ninjas ask me something. Edith Hamilton’s Mythology is one of my favorite books in High School – it holds such amazing love stories, well amazing and weird at the same time.

Stickers – I looove stickers and so does my boys (le Mister x le Ninjas). It’s a great thing that the company I am working with is very generous – once in a while I get a packet full of stickers or cutesy random stuff from them.

Maroon blazer , black cardigan and a set of charmed leather bracelets from Cotton On - stuff from my step mother-in-law, she sent it via Le Mister when he came over to SG for his sister’s 18th birthday. I’ve heard that there’s already a Cotton On store here in Manila but I didn’t bother to check it out because I don’t have the moolah yet to spend. I wanted to go then I forgot about it and then I got these, my size, love the color which is in season -- perfect.

MIB 3

I really thought it was one of them chaotic sci-fi film but it was the exact opposite. The Mister downloaded the movie ( thanks, Torrent ) and we watched it together with the Ninjas last Friday night. To tell you honestly, I cried towards the end of the movie it just sends in ' an emotional punch'.  -- no wonder Agent K doesn't want to tell Agent J what was happening. It all made sense. It was all meant to be. I liked that Andy Warhol was in there and that Griffin guy was amazing; he's actually the coolest character in the movie -- and I love his beanie by the way! =p

So there's this part where Agent J was asking something about Agent K's mysterious disappearance. He asked  Agent O some questions and Agent O was like  "Don't ask a question that you don't want to know the answer of" and it got me thinking -- oh yeah..what could that question be in my case?

So uhmmm... if I would ask a question that I don't want to know the answer of? Shoot -- really? ok. uhhhh.. it would probably be... hold it ..hold it.. * holding back tears* and *clearing throat *

Why did my dad ever have to leave us and is not planning to return? --wait was that a valid question? did I just ask that correctly? I think so  and I kind of know the answer to this and I wish I'm wrong but I don't know ---
Sorry. Was being to mushy up there. I just thought that was interesting.

Anyhooo, if you haven't seen the movie yet, go check it out -- I say it's 4/5 buckets.

Dear God,

I thank you that I don't have enough closet space for my clothes, enough hooks for my bags and enough containers for my accessories. It simply means that even though I can't buy the things that I want, they still find their way to me via some awesome people I have in my life. It means I am loved . I have more than enough. Amen.

PS -- I still have some vacant space on our shoe rack. Just letting you know. Just in case -- oh and I'm a seven , but I know you already know that.

You're the best ,
 Ana

Eight and Six

I love September. Not only because it is the beginning of -BER months but there's also tons of birthday celebration in store at Le Mister's side of the family and all of them are so dear to my heart. Oh! and don't get me started on the cakes -- we're huge cake fans around here.

Last Saturday, we celebrated Andre's 6th birthday. Destiny turns 8 , 5 days after so their mommies decided to have a double celebration.

invite by Jing, Destiny's mom -- Le Mister's younger sister

while waiting for the party to start

It was super fun! There were games for both kids and grown-ups!  I'm quite happy that  even  Le Mister whole 'heartedly' participated on them games when Andre called his name. He was the first one out though  which got us all thinking that he did it on purpose. At least he participated, right? TX won the longest greeting game! well -- him and his other cousin. I think he got 9 secs and I shouted 13 secs. *grins* .  Atreyu was not in the mood before the party because he really wanted to eat fries at that time but he patiently waited, probably because his Papa said so.

Longest Happy Birthday greeting game
'Cheese burger game' with the gents
one bored crowd. hehe...
Photo opp with Grimace

A little side note: TX had his very first birthday party at McDonald's as well and we were hoping to get Ronald McDonald to show up but he was busy at that time so they had Grimace -- TX of course couldn't remember Grimace from his first birthday party but who would have thought that they'd meet again after five years.
First degree cousins.
The afternoon was filled with laughter, ice cream and people who are close to the two -- I can really say both felt very pretty special.

We take our cakes seriously around here. hehe

Us. Just look at TX's face. pfffft.

A Few Things.

Why hello there! I just thought I'd share some stuff here before I forget this space (again). Trust me, I've been meaning to get back at what I really love doing ( aside from sleeping...) and that is writing. They say the best way to be good at writing is to...hold it..duh...keep on writing! Well, I know you know that. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to get my groove back on this little hobby of mine.

Well that was a long intro was it? Ok. Three things.

One:
MXPX is coming to town! I've been a fan, well not really that much of a fan but I can say that they are one of the very first bands that I listen to and got me interested with punk music and I never looked back.  I remember I used to 'borrow' my brother's cassette tape of the album  Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo just to listen to it the whole afternoon while he's at school. Good times.  I just wish my brothers are here with me to share the experience and them friends too -- Makoi, Dorai, Lou, Mayet, Rob *sigh.

Two:
Foster the People is in town too. Ughh. I don't know if I'm going to be excited, sad, disappointed or what. I can't afford to spend big bucks on 2 concerts tickets in one month -- I mean I've already missed NOFX and sadly, Taking Back Sunday -- but hopefully they'll be back and I can't afford to miss MXPX this time -- watching it for my folks that're not here. It's really not that big of a deal. Foster the People is Foster the People -- sigh. But like I always say, they'll be back.

Three:
I saw the trailer of The Perks of Being a Wallflower the other day and liked it! love the OST , some friends at work love the book and emailed the PDF file to me, so hopefully I'll finish that next week. One thing that got me excited to see the movie is that it's got the same producers as the movie Juno which is one of my favorite movies of all time.

So, there you go! A few things that I am excited about and keeping me motivated. It wasn't that bad was it? Later.
